TCC Courses

English IV is taught in person by TCC instructors; students must take all 4 classes to receive credit. Government and Economics are taught asynchronously online; students are scheduled into the class during the day and progress is monitored by a CSHS teacher.

TWU Courses

US History is taught asynchronously online; students are scheduled into the class during the day and progress is monitored by a social studies certified CSHS teacher who will also provide EOC/STAAR preparation in the spring.

The classes listed above are CISD specific classes. Students are able to take other dual credit classes through TCC during the school year outside of the school day with counselor permission.

Seniors must have any course required for graduation in their schedule.

In order to take Dual Credit classes, you must meet the following deadlines:

Step 1 - Choose DC course in your course requests (Deadline: Jan 20th)

Step 2 - Fill out the Commitment Form and Complete the Action Items (Deadline: Feb 27th)

Step 3 - Submit qualifying test scores (Deadline: April 1st)

Step 4 - Registration (Deadline: May 15th)

Summer registration at TCC begins on March 23rd.

Students taking summer classes need to be ready to register before spring break!

TCC

• B average or higher recommended
• You must score college ready on the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) or exempt the requirement for most classes.
• You can take the TSI at CSHS in the spring when it is offered at CSHS or at TCC.
• You must provide your test scores by the April 1 deadline in order to take dual credit courses.

TWU

• TWU requires an endorsement from the high school counselor. 
• Meets or Masters ELA EOC and 85+ or higher in World History or 80+ in AP World History/AP European History in 10th grade

or

• Students must meet TSIA requirement or exemption (same as TCC admission requirements)

CISD only accepts specific courses for dual credit. Please review the TCC Dual Credit Core Curriculum Course Guide to ensure the course(s) you are choosing will count for dual credit. Students MUST receive permission from their counselor prior to enrolling in a dual credit class in the summer in order to ensure that the courses align with their graduation requirements and that they will be accepted for high school credit.

Summer courses at TCC, especially online courses, fill up very quickly. It is important that students who want to take courses during the summer complete all action items in time to enroll in summer classes as soon as registration opens in March.

TCC

Tuition is free but there is a cost for textbooks and fees; total cost depends on the course and the professor. Log in to your online Student Account Center through MyTCCTrack. For questions, please contact TCC's Business Services office: 817-515-4PAY (4729).

TWU

Tuition is $174 per semester and there is a one time $50 application fee. Students can pay on Self Service with their TWU Pioneer Portal username and password. For more information about payments, visit the Bursar's website.

Students with accommodations are responsible for providing the college with a copy of their 504 or IEP paperwork. Requests take time to process so it is important to provide this information as soon as possible.
