About Your Librarian

Dr. Shannon P. Pierce, BBA, MSEd, MLS, DEd

Hello, I am so excited to join the Carroll ISD family as the Library Media Specialist at Carroll Senior High this year. I was a 5th grade English teacher for five years before deciding to move to the library. Since then I have been an elementary, intermediate, and high school librarian. It is a job I truly love doing. My favorite part of the job is interacting with the students on a daily basis. I also teach Master of Library courses for Indiana University and Texas A & M - Commerce.

In my free time I enjoy reading, crafting, SCUBA diving, and traveling. I have four children, seven grandchildren, and one spoiled pup, Sailor Sky. I loved to the DFW area from the beach about a year ago, so I am still learning to navigate my way around.

I firmly believe that reading is a cornerstone of personal and societal development. Books are not just repositories of knowledge but also instruments of transformation, offering profound insights, fostering empathy, and nurturing critical thinking.
